Renting vs. Buying
Renting gives you the flexibility of having a low initial investment while accruing rental credit toward the purchase of an instrument. Unsure whether to rent or buy? Talk to your teacher, or contact Megan for advice.
Rentals
Tiller Strings works closely with strings teachers in the area to offer their preferred, high quality student and advancing instruments as rentals. Rental instruments include violins, violas, cellos, st guitars, mandolins, and banjos. All sizes are available. Contact us to set up a rental agreement with all the details you’ll need to know about renting an instrument.
Rental FAQ
- all outfits include a case, bow, rosin, shoulder rest or rock stop (if needed), and cleaning cloth
- exchange for a different instrument or a different size at any time
- return at any time
- repairs due to normal wear are covered
- with teacher recommendation, minor adjustments will be provided at no charge (for example, a different chin rest or shoulder rest for a better fit)
- rent to own: rental credit may be applied toward the purchase of an instrument of equal or greater value
Sales
Violins, Violas, Cellos, String Basses & Bows
Instruments are carefully chosen and range in quality and craftsmanship from “student” to “workshop” (for the most advanced musicians). New and used options available; hand built by luthiers in America and around the world.
Trade-Ins
You may trade in your Tiller Strings instrument for credit toward an instrument of equal or greater value (ideal for moving to a larger size or upgrading to a more advanced instrument).
Consignment
Let Tiller Strings help you find a new home for your instrument. Consignment instruments are carefully evaluated and selected on an extremely limited basis to round out current inventory.
